A Day of Remembrance and Celebration
Yesterday marked the inaugural Steph Lilley Memorial Day, held to honour the memory of Steph, celebrated by all as the most beautiful lady ever. The occasion was filled with both laughter and tears, as Steph’s husband Joe, her daughter Carol, and their nephew Ian from Manchester, England, joined many Bullsbrook Bowling Club members—some of whom had moved away but returned especially to pay their respects.
In tribute to Steph, the members of the Bullsbrook Bowling Club arranged for a rose to be planted in her honour. Additionally, Rink 3 was formally dedicated and named the Steph Lilley Rink, ensuring her legacy remains at the heart of the club.
Following a couple of games on the greens and a few drinks, the ladies of the club provided a delicious lunch for all invited guests and members. The event was also a chance to share many old stories and fond memories of the club’s past, which proved especially interesting for those of us who have joined more recently.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend, with guests travelling from Sunbird down to Mandurah, as well as from across the Perth area. Steph would undoubtedly have been honoured by the commitment shown by all who came together to remember her.
Competition Results
• Runners up: Roger Solomons & George Rayner
• Winners: Craig Stoddart & Charmian Tonkovich
The weather was kind to us, allowing everyone to leave the greens for lunch just before the heat of the day began to set in. The event was a fitting celebration of Steph’s life and her enduring impact on the club and its members.
Edit: My sincerest apologies I forgot to put in this post that the Steph Lilley day was proudly sponsored by Absolutely Settlements, so if you are looking to buy or sell please contact Carol or Jo for all your settlement needs.
I can personally recommend them, when we used them they were a wealth of knowledge and our settlement went off without a hitch. Once again I apologise for not putting this on the original post. I thought of it at stupid o’clock during the night last night.
